Among Many Business Jet Manufacturers, Gulfstream Debuts G500 & G600 At MEBAA Show 2018
Gulfstream displayed its all-new, clean-sheet Gulfstream G500 and G600 business jets for the first time at the MEBAA (Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association) airshow, which wrapped up this week after running December 10-12 at DWC (Dubai World Central) in the United Arab Emirates.
The Hub
This year marks the MEBAA Airshow’s eighth edition. The event is billed at the “Middle East’s leading business aviation exhibition.” Besides Gulfstream, other business aircraft manufacturers that participated include Airbus, Boeing Business Jets, Bombardier, Cirrus, Dassault Aviation, Diamond Aircraft, Embraer, and Honda Aircraft Company. Textron owns the Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker brands.
In addition to the G500 and G600, Gulfstream exhibited its super-midsized G280, the Robert J. Collier Trophy-winning G550, and its flagship Gulfstream G650ER. The G500 entered service in September after receiving its Federal Aviation Administration certification in July. It has since received validation of its type certification from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.

In a statement, Gulfstream president Mark Burns said Gulfstream has been delivering Gulfstream aircraft to the MENA region since the 1960s and is proud to showcase its latest aircraft at the MEBAA Airshow.
