Bombardier’s Global 7500 Makes First Public Appearance In China At ABACE 2019

When business and commercial aircraft manufacturer Bombardier brought its flagship 19-passenger Global 7500 business jet to the ABACE 2019 (Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition) trade show running April 16 to 18 in Shanghai, it marked the Global 7500’s first public appearance in China, as well as its first presence at an airshow since entering service in December 2018. Bombardier’s large-cabin Global 6000 and super-midsized Challenger 350 business jets will also appear at ABACE.

    Intensifying Interest

Bombardier Business Aircraft’s Khader Mattar says that with its “range, comfort, and smooth ride,” the Global 7500 is “ideally suited” to meet business jet customer needs in the Greater China region. Since entering service last year, Bombardier says interest has “only intensified” in the jet, which has picked up several design-related awards.

Able to connect Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong nonstop to New York, London, or Milan, the Global 7500 provides a 7,700-nautical mile (14,260-kilometer) published range, “the longest in business aviation,” Bombardier says. Offering four living spaces, including a fully equipped kitchen and master suite with permanent bed and stand-up shower, the Global 7500 also features Bombardier’s patented Nuage seat and what Bombardier claims is business aviation’s first implementation of an OLED display.

    Also On Display

Bombardier’s 17-passenger Global 6000 business jet is also putting in an appearance at ABACE, as is the 10-passenger Challenger 350. The Global 6000 provides a 6,000-nautical mile (11,112-kilometer) range and a top speed. Bombardier claims it is the largest business jet able to fly nonstop from Aspen, Colorado, to London’s City Airport due to its steep-approach certification and performance. The Challenger 350 has a 3,200-nautical mile (5,926-kilometer) range, is the best-selling business jet platform of the last decade, and is the super-midsized aircraft able to fly full range at full fuel and seat capacity, Bombardier says.
