Dassault Aviation Demos Falcon 8X Business Jet, FalconEye System & More At LABACE 2019

    Posted On: November 1, 2019

Dassault Aviation recently appeared at the LABACE 2019 Airshow in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where it displayed the company’s flagship Falcon 8X shown here. Dassault also had its Falcon 2000LXS business jet on hand, and highlighted its upcoming Falcon 6X jet and Falcon Eye Combined Vision System. (Photo courtesy of Dassault Aviation.)

Complete with its flagship Falcon 8X and older Falcon 2000LXS business jets in tow, France-based aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation recently attended the Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (LABACE) 2019 airshow in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dassault says the South American market has “emerged as one of the strongest” ones for the Falcon 8X, which recently set a speed record flying from the airport in Santa Monica, California—known for its challenging 3,500-foot (1,066-meter) runway—to Teterboro, New Jersey.

    Bullish Prospects

With its 6,450-nautical-mile (12,000-kilometer) range with eight passengers and three crew, the Falcon 8X can connect Sao Paulo to San Francisco or Moscow, as well as Hong Kong to London and Shanghai to Los Angeles. The jet notably is available with an option for Dassault’s FalconEye Combined Vision System, which Dassault demonstrated at LABACE. Billed as the industry’s first head-up display to combine synthetic and enhanced vision abilities, Dassault says FalconEye provides “superior situational awareness” in any day or night conditions and is approved for low-visibility approaches with 100-foot (30.5-meter) minima.

Dassault’s Falcon 2000S, Falcon 2000LXS, and 900LX tri-jet aircraft also offer FalconEye as an option. Eric Trappier, Dassault Aviation chairman and CEO, says that “operators appreciate the unparalleled safety, state-of-the-art technology, and cabin comfort—particularly the smooth, quiet flight and seamless in-flight connectivity”—the Falcon line offers. “With the business environment in South America, and Brazil in particular, rapidly improving, we are bullish about Falcon prospects in the region,” he says.

    Popular In Brazil

Dassault says the Falcon 8X has become “especially popular” in Brazil and other Latin American markets due to its airport performance and flying comfort. The latter benefits from the Falcon 8X outputting what Dassault says are the industry’s lowest cabin noise levels. Dassault also says it has made major investments recently in its MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) network and other product support areas. That includes investments in its support facility in Sao Paulo, which recently marked its 10th year of operation.
