Founded in 1973 by Mike Schweiss, the Hector, Minnesota-based Schweiss Doors is a designer and manufacturer of custom-built bifold, designer, and hydraulic doors, including doors for airplane hangars with a T, box, floatplane, or jet design approach. Schweiss Doors also produces doors for other aviation, agricultural, residential, and commercial applications.

Schweiss Doors recently introduced a new bifold door for sale that uses the company’s patented polyester-based lift straps, which replace the use of cables, chains, sprockets, and pulleys. Schweiss states that the strap-based approach is faster, safer, simpler, easier, and quieter than any other bifold door on the market.

Across its product lineup, Schweiss Doors offers glass doors, industrial doors built to withstand heavy daily usage, and insulated doors that utilize new, interlocking Class A fire-rated insulated panels. The company also builds moving wall doors for industrial, commercial, and residential applications, such as restaurants, gymnasiums, universities, and homes, as well as single-panel doors, also referred to as one-piece hydraulic doors. Schweiss Doors’ hydraulic doors feature the use of compact pumps that owners can mount in their preferred location.
