Piper Takes M600 Turboprop To Asia Pacific Rim For First Visit, Demo Tour To Follow
Piper Aircraft’s new flagship M600, part of the company’s M-Class series of single-engine turboprop models along with the M500, M350, and Matrix aircraft, has yet to show itself in the Pacific Rim region. This is changing this week as Piper is making the M600 available for display and demos at the Seletar Airport as part of the Singapore Airshow Feb. 6-11. Following the show, the M600 will depart on a three-month tour touching down in five countries, including Australia, where an extensive schedule awaits the aircraft. In addition to the M-Class Series, the Vero Beach, Florida-based Piper also offers Seneca V, Seminole, Warrior, Archer TX, Archer DX, and Arrow aircraft for sale for business, personal, and training applications.
Let The Show Begin
Founded in 1937, Piper Aircraft is working with its dealer, Wings Over Asia, to bring the M600 to the Singapore Airshow and Pacific Rim region. In a press release, Piper officials cited the airshow, billed as Asia’s largest aerospace event, as being key for the company. Drew McEwen, Piper Aircraft vice president of international and direct sales, specifically cited Wings Over Asia’s location at the Seletar Airport as being ideal for Piper to interact with enthusiasts while also offering demos of the M600.
Similarly, Simon Caldecott, Piper Aircraft CEO and president, touted the show as providing Piper the opportunity to meet its customers, as well as prospects and prominent industry leaders, to show case the M600’s abilities. “Wings Over Asia does an exceptional job of promoting Piper products and general aviation throughout the region, as such, we are looking forward to collaborating with them during Asia’s largest aerospace event,” he said.
Meet The M600
Introduced in 2015, the single-engine M600 features an all-new clean-sheet design and updates the company’s M500, including the addition of Garmin G3000 avionics featuring a touchscreen-controlled glass flight deck. The six-seat aircraft also sports a more powerful Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A 600 SHP engine and a Hartzell four-blade propeller. The aircraft’s new interior design, meanwhile, includes the use of premium leather and high-end trim throughout the cabin. Piper also makes several personalized design packages available.
In terms of performance, the M600 has a 260-gallon (984-liter) fuel capacity, maximum cruise speed of 315.2 miles per hours (507 kilometers per hour), maximum range of 1,484 nautical miles (2,748 kilometers), 2,635-foot (803-meter) takeoff distance, 2,659-foot (810-meter) landing distance, and 30,000-foot (9,144-meter) maximum approved altitude. The aircraft’s standard useful load is 2,400 pounds (1,089 kilograms).
