The ABACE (Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition) scheduled for April 17-19 in Shanghai will be the place to be for those curious to see Bombardier’s upcoming ultra-long-range Global 7000 in person. Bombardier will have a mockup of the Global 7000, billed as the “world’s largest purpose-built business jet,” available at the conference and will also be showing off the new luxury-centric Premier cabin of its Global 6000 business jet. Additionally, the company’s Challenger 350 and Challenger 650 jets will be on hand.

    A World Tour

The Montreal-based Bombardier, a global-leading maker of aircraft and trains, gave the public its first look at the roughly 105-foot-long (32-meter) Global 7000 in 2014 at the European Business Aviation and Exhibition in Geneva. Expected to enter service later this year, the 19-seat Global 7000 has been on an extended world tour for most of the year with stops in the United States and the Middle East, among other locations.

Khader Mattar, Bombardier Business Aircraft vice president of sales for Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and China, says the feedback Bombardier has received concerning the Global 7000 “has been nothing short of exceptional.” The company is equally delighted to debut the Premier cabin in Shanghai, he says, noting that its “elegant and skillfully crafted interior” further elevates the customer experience. Already available in the Global 5000 and 6000, Bombardier describes the Premier interior as blending “contemporary design, luxurious materials, and flawless craftsmanship with exceptional comfort.”

    Multiple Living Spaces

Powered by GE Passport engines, the Global 7000 offers a maximum 51,000-foot (15,545-meter) operating altitude and a 7,400-nautical mile (13,705-kilometer) maximum range. The jet has a top speed of Mach 0.925, a top cruise speed of Mach 0.90, and a Mach 0.85 typical cruise speed. It also includes four distinct living spaces, as well as a full kitchen and dedicated suite for crewmembers. The cabin measures 6.3 feet (2 meters) high, 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) wide, and 54.7 feet (16.7 meters) long.

As for the Challenger 350 business jet, Bombardier claims it continued to dominate the super-midsize segment and medium aircraft category in 2017. Introduced in 2014, the aircraft seats up to 10 passengers and is equipped with twin Honeywell HTF7350 turbofans. The 350 can quickly climb to a 43,000-foot (13,106-meter) initial cruising altitude, and has a maximum 3,200-nautical mile (5,926-kilometer) range and a top speed of Mach 0.83. Bombardier recently completed a steep-approach certification flight test campaign for the aircraft and expects final certification this year.
