Gulfstream Aerospace has announced that its twin-engine G600 business jet will make its first appearance at the Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (LABACE) in San Paulo, Brazil, which takes place Aug. 14 to 16. Expected to receive its Federal Aviation Administration certification later this year, the G600 will be joined at the event by Gulfstream’s extended range G650ER flagship model and the super-midsize G280.

    Inside The G600

Sleeping up to nine and seating up to 19 passengers in four living areas, the G600 features a clean-sheet design offering a galley owners can locate forward or aft, as well as an optional shower. Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW815GA engines, the G600 has a maximum range of 6,500 nautical miles (12,038 kilometers), a maximum cruising altitude of 51,000 feet (15,545 meters), a maximum speed of Mach 0.925, and maximum takeoff weight of 94,600 pounds (42,910 kilograms). As with the recently FAA-certified G500, the G600 also features the Symmetry Flight Deck, which includes “the industry’s first active control sidesticks.”

The Savannah, Georgia,-based Gulfstream says the G600 that will appear in its static display at LABACE will feature a mirrored mid-cabin bulkhead and quilted seats. The interior recently won a Private Jet Design award at the 2018 International Yacht & Aviation Awards.

    A Growing Fleet

More than 205 Gulfstream aircraft are currently in service in Latin America, with roughly 70 percent being large-cabin models such as the G650ER, G650, and G550. With fleets of about 100, 45, and 25 aircraft, respectively, Gulfstream tabs Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela as its largest Latin American operators. Since 2013, Gulfstream’s fleet in Brazil has grown by about 10 percent; the company supports its Brazilian fleet with the Gulfstream Brazil service center near Sao Paulo at the Bertram Luiz Leupolz Airport.

Gulfstream Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales Scott Neal says the G600 is ideally suited for the Brazilian and Latin American markets, as is the G500. “Departing from major cities in Brazil, the G600 can reach the continental U.S. and Europe nonstop at speeds from Mach 0.85 to Mach 0.90,” he says. “It also is capable of reaching Africa and parts of the Middle East.”

If you’re in the market for Gulfstream aircraft, you’ll find numerous pre-owned models for sale every day on Controller.com, including G280s, 450s, G550s, G650s, and G650ERs.
