Boeing Global Services Updates Its Digital Solutions Portfolio
Boeing recently detailed a bevy of announcements concerning its digital solutions portfolio (powered by Boeing AnalytX) to “enable better, faster operational decision-making” for Boeing customers. With the amount of data tied to an airplane set to double in the next 20 years, Mike Fleming, vice president of Boeing’s Commercial Services, says Boeing is evolving the tools in the portfolio and developing new applications and analytics to help customers improve their operations.
Powering Decisions
With Boeing AnalytX, Boeing applies its aerospace expertise in dealing with data-based information to empower customers’ decision-making. Applications that use Boeing’s predictive analysis enable customers to look ahead, giving them “more time to evaluate, plan, and manage solutions.”
New integrated digital solutions Boeing announced include Crossmos, software Boeing will adapt to develop a new Boeing Mobile Logbook enabling flight and maintenance crews to enter and share maintenance information. Other solutions include an enhanced Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro electronic flight bag, Jeppesen Fuel Dashboard Pilot Insight tool, and Reliability Advisor and RouteSync tools. New agreements providing customers with Boeing AnalytX-powered digital solutions include Air Europa adopting Software Distribution Tools and AHM (Airplane Health Management), Swiss International Air Lines deploying Jeppesen Crew Tracking, Travel Service deploying Software Distribution Manager and Maintenance Performance Toolbox, and United Airlines renewing usage of Crew Pairing and adding the Crew Calibration tool.
Simplifying The Flying Experience
Separately, Boeing also announced enhancements to Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck, an EFB (electronic flight bag) solution for the business and general aviation markets. Besides real-time data abilities designed to enable better decision-making, new features include intelligent data processing that factors in pilot preferences and requirements. William Ampofo, Boeing Global Services vice president of Business and General Aviation, says the “enhancements will simplify the flying experience by making data more accessible and usable in all phases of flight.”
