Special Edition Beechcraft 350i Turboprop Coming From Textron Aviation & King Ranch
Textron Aviation, owner of the Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker aircraft brands, and Texas-based King Ranch are partnering on a special edition Beechcraft King Air 350i model expected for 2019 delivery. The King Ranch King Air 350i will feature a themed interior and exterior, with the exterior bearing King Ranch’s “Running W” emblem. Captain Richard King established King Ranch in 1853 in Texas’ Wild Horse Desert. The privately held company now spans 825,000 acres and operates as a major agricultural business. In addition to the King Ranch Saddle Shop, King Ranch owns a John Deere dealership and is the majority owner of Consolidated Citrus, the United States’ largest citrus producer.
Icons Unite
Rhonda Fullerton, Textron Aviation vice president of marketing, says that while the King Air 350i’s “legendary reliability and performance” has made it “the most popular business turboprop on the market,” King Ranch’s “quality and high-tech innovation” have put it “at the leading edge of the ranching industry.” Similarly, King Ranch CEO and president Robert Underbrink says both companies are “indisputable icons.” Together, they “bring forth an unparalleled customer experience,” he says. “Rugged yet refined, elegant simplicity matched with high-caliber performance—both remain true to their legacy of innovation.”
Introduced in 2008 as a variant of the King Air 350, the 350i offers a 1,806-nautical mile (3,345-kilometer) maximum range, 35,000-foot (10,668-meter) maximum altitude, and 312 ktas (578 km/h) maximum cruise speed. The aircraft sports two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-60A engines, seats up to 11 passengers, and integrates Pro Line Fusion avionics.
Special Trimmings
Besides the Running W emblem located next to the 350i’s entry door and on the inboard side of its winglets, the special edition 350i’s exterior will feature a King Ranch-edition Matterhorn white base coat and dark-caramel pearl and black pearl stripes. The interior will include King Ranch pewter trim accents below the airplane’s four cabin tables, Running W aft bulkhead quilting, King Ranch-branded throw carpets, hair-on-hide lumbar pillows, ostrich muslin vinyl headliner and window panels, Tendu wood grain side-ledges and cabinetry, crocodile-embossed leather upper sidewalls, and other features.
