Textron Aviation Forms New Textron Aviation Canada Subsidiary
There are 500-plus Cessna Citation, Beechcraft King Air, and Hawker aircraft in operation throughout Canada, according to Kriya Shortt, senior vice president of customer service for Textron Aviation, owner of the Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker brands. To serve those aircraft, Textron recently announced it’s establishing a wholly owned subsidiary, Textron Aviation Canada, to reaffirm its “support to a growing customer base in the country.”
Toronto & Calgary
In establishing Textron Aviation Canada, Textron is acquiring the assets of Aspect Aircraft Maintenance, a maintenance and repair provider in Calgary where a Textron Aviation MSU (mobile service unit) already operates. Textron will also create an MSU in Toronto as part of its network expansion in Canada. With the Calgary MSU, which operates as part the AMO (Approved Maintenance Organization) certification, Textron will increase the number of MSU technicians based at Calgary International Airport. Textron will also expand the MSU’s abilities to deliver AOG (aircraft on ground) support, as well as limited inspections and engine maintenance.
North American Expansion
Textron Aviation manages 60-plus MSUs and rapid response aircraft overall. Prior to establishing Textron Aviation Canada, Textron added four new MSUs in North America this year and created a line maintenance station at London’s Biggin Hill Airport. Shortt says the recent moves and growth plan will “increase our customer’s access to factory-direct service, ensuring they have a local connection for technical support, parts, and maintenance.”
You’ll find hundreds of new and used Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft for sale every day on Controller.com.
