The SR Series
Founded in 1984, Cirrus bills itself as the “personal aircraft manufacturer.” The company released its first SR Series aircraft in 1999 with the SR20, which is used for business applications and as a trainer. Other members of the single-engine, piston-based SR Series include the SR22 and turbocharged SR22T. During year, Cirrus delivered its 7,000th plane from the series, now in its sixth generation and “the best-selling general aviation piston aircraft in its class for 17 consecutive years,” Cirrus says. Overall, SR Series aircraft have flown 10.5 million-plus flight hours globally.
The Vision Jet
This year, Cirrus says production of Vision Jets will continue picking up pace, and the company expects to expand into “significant new markets” as it makes deliveries to buyers in Brazil, South Africa, and Australia. Certified in 2016, the Vision Jet is a winner of the Robert J. Collier Trophy.
Early this year, Cirrus launched the G2, the next generation of the Vision Jet, with numerous comfort, safety, and performance improvements, including enhanced cruise altitude, speed, and range. The jet also features a newly updated version the Garmin Perspective Touch+ flight deck.
