Textron Aviation Displays Cessna & Beechcraft Business Jets & Turboprops At ABACE 2019

    Posted On: April 23, 2019

Textron Aviation recently had the company’s Beechcraft King Air 350i turboprop aircraft on static display at ABACE 2019 in Shanghai. Textron says the King Air and Cessna Caravan models make up about 80% of turboprops in the APAC region. (Photo courtesy of Textron Aviation.)

Textron Aviation claims that with nearly 1,500 jets and turboprops delivered to the Asia-Pacific region, it’s delivered more aircraft to the APAC sector than any other general aviation manufacturer. It was only fitting then that Textron had its midsized Cessna Citation Latitude and light-midsized Cessna Citation XLS+ business jets and Beechcraft King Air 350i flagship turboprop on static display at the recent ABACE (Asian Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition) show held in mid-April in China at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Textron owns the Cessna and Beechcraft brands, as well as the Hawker brand.

    Textron In APAC

Textron says it has delivered 250,000-plus aircraft to more than 143 countries overall. Kevin Wu, Textron’s international vice president of sales for the greater China and Mongolia region, says Beechcraft King Air and Cessna Caravan aircraft represent roughly 80% of the APAC region’s turboprop fleet. Citation jets, meanwhile, represent 30% or more of the APAC fleet, says Wu, who notes the percentage should grow as Textron’s Cessna Latitude continues to garner great interest in the region.

Measuring 62.3 feet (19 meters) long, the nine-passenger Citation Latitude offers a 2,700-nautical-mile (5,000-kilometer) range with four passengers, a top speed of Mach 0.80, and a 446-ktas (826-km/h) maximum cruise speed. The shorter (52.5-foot; 16-meter) nine-passenger Citation XLS+ provides a maximum 2,100-nautical-mile (3,889-kilometer) range, a top cruise speed of 441-ktas (817-km/h), and a Mach 0.75 top speed. The King Air 350i, meanwhile, can haul 11 passengers, fly at a maximum 312-ktas (578-km/h) speed, and has a maximum range of 1,806 nautical miles (3,345 kilometers).

    At Your Service

Also at ABACE, Textron detailed the aftermarket support it offers in the APAC region via its global service network. Besides operating a company-owned service facility and dedicated parts depot in Singapore, Textron has service technicians stationed throughout the region who provide maintenance, inspections, parts, repairs, refurbishments, and other specialized services. Moreover, Textron has 30-plus authorized service facilities in the region.

If you’re in the market for new or used Cessna, Beechcraft, or Hawker aircraft, you’ll find hundreds of these aircraft for sale every day on Controller.com.
