Textron Aviation Announces FAA-Certified Utility Nose Modification For Beechcraft King Air 350 Models

    Posted On: November 19, 2019

Textron Aviation recently announced it’s now offering an FAA-certified utility nose modification option for its Beechcraft Air 350 that will enable adding 12 cubic feet of storage space for another 250 pounds of payload. (Photo courtesy of Textron Aviation.)

The FAA-certified utility nose modification option that Textron Aviation recently announced for its Beechcraft King Air 350 turboprop business aircraft gives owners and operators access to an additional 12 cubic feet (0.34 cubic meters) of storage space. That, in turn, enables another 250 pounds (113.4 kilograms) of payload, says Textron, owner of the Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker brands.

    “Capability To Succeed”

“This modification is a response to customer interest in optimizing the flexibility of our King Air 350 platform—equipping the aircraft with additional space for baggage or for special mission applications—and increasing loading configurations,” says Bob Gibbs, Textron Aviation vice president of Defense and Special Missions Sales. “The Beechcraft King Air offers the widest range of mission capabilities of our broad product lineup, and we remain committed to continuously enhancing the platform to ensure our customers have the capability to succeed, no matter the mission.”

The nose modification provides space for a number of usage possibilities, including extra storage for cameras and sensors used in surveillance, or oxygen bottles and medical equipment used in air ambulance operations. The upgrade includes support for King Air 350 variants, including the 350C cargo and 350ER extended-range aircrafts. Additionally, Textron notes the upgrade is compatible with PT6A-60A or PT6A-67A engines.

    A Best-Seller

Billed as the “world’s most popular business turboprop aircraft,” the King Air 350i is the latest variant of the King Air; Textron claims it has delivered 7,500-plus models of the plane worldwide since 1964, making it the “best-selling turboprop family in the world.” Offering a 5,145-pound (2,334-kilogram) useful load, the 11-passenger Beechcraft King Air 350i has a 1,806-nautical mile (3,345-kilometer) range and 312-ktas cruise speed. In addition to corporate aircraft missions, King Airs are used for cargo transport, surveillance, air ambulance, mapping, training, and other applications.

You’ll find hundreds of new and used Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker airplanes for sale every day on Controller.com, including King Air 350s.
