Cirrus Aircraft Reports 29% Increase In Vision Jet Orders & Fifth Straight Year Of Rising Aircraft Deliveries
Cirrus Aircraft CEO Zean Nielsen credits his company’s mission to create an aviation experience defined by innovation and excellence with its five straight years of increasing aircraft deliveries. The Duluth, Minnesota, aircraft manufacturer recently announced the continued growth, as well as a 29% year-over-year increase in orders for its Vision Jet, which the company says is the world’s best-selling jet in the general aviation sector. Cirrus says it delivered more than 80 Vision Jets in 2019, as well as 384 of its SR Series aircraft, for a total of 465 aircraft deliveries last year, a 5% increase over 2018.
A Safe Return
Based on 2019 deliveries, Cirrus says the SR Series “maintained its distinction as the best-selling high-performance piston aircraft in its segment for 18 consecutive years.” Further, 2019 marked the sixth straight year that Cirrus delivered 300-plus SR Series units. The SR Series worldwide fleet now tops 7,500 aircraft and 11 million flight hours, Cirrus says. Cirrus introduced the SR Series in 1999 with the SR20. The series now also includes the SR22 and turbocharged SR22T. In early January, Cirrus also introduced an all-new 2020 G6 SR Series that features the Cirrus Aircraft mobile app. The app leverages the Cirrus IQ remote connectivity platform to provide “a real-time digital connection to the airplane from virtually anywhere in the world.”
Vision Jet deliveries now exceed 170 worldwide following 2019’s numbers. Cirrus introduced the Vision Jet in 2016 as the “world’s first single-engine Personal Jet.” In 2019, it launched the G2 Vision Jet, a next-generation model with an upgraded Perspective Touch+ flight deck from Garmin to go along with Autothrottle, Flight Stream connectivity, and other upgrades. Perspective Touch+ will notably power the Safe Return emergency auto-land system that Cirrus will include with Vision Jets for 2020 delivery.
