The 16-passenger ultra-widebody Falcon 6X executive jet, which Dassault says it will begin delivering in 2022, has won an International Yacht & Aviation Award for its interior design. The awards are hosted by design et al and Luxe et al magazines.

    More Than Interior Décor

“This prestigious award reflects the innovative manner in which our in-house Design Studio conceived the Falcon 6X cabin, which entailed going well beyond simply improving the aircraft’s interior decoration,” says Dassault Aviation Chairman and CEO Eric Trappier. “With extensive input from customers, our engineers rethought the entire interior design process, employing a sensory design approach that will completely redefine the passenger flight experience.”

    Spacious & Versatile

Dassault introduced the Falcon 6X in 2018, and is planning its maiden flight for next year. The aerospace company says the aircraft is the “most spacious, advanced, and versatile” twinjet in the business aviation sector. Featuring 6.5 feet (1.98 meters) of cabin headroom and measuring 8.5 ft (2.58 m) wide, the cabin includes 30 extra-wide windows and what Dassault says is business aviation’s first overhead skylight.

Those features are part of an overall design scheme intended to maximize passenger health and wellness, especially during long, intercontinental trips. Dassault says these ideals factored into its choice of cabin materials, textures, finishes, furniture and furnishings layout, lighting, color schemes, and contours.

The award-winning interior design of the Falcon 6X features a sensory design approach that Dassault says will completely redefine the passenger flight experience. Smart-control mood lighting, micro-perforated fabrics, and sound- and light-absorbing materials are just a few of the interior’s features. (Photo courtesy of Dassault Aviation.)

    A Few Of The Amenities

Specific Falcon 6X cabin features include upholstered areas covered with micro-perforated fabrics, woven textiles, and 3D fabrics that absorb sound, reflect or absorb light, and protect passengers from microbes. Smart-control mood lighting, easily accessible electronic functions, recessed controls that light up and dim, side-panel charging pockets, and tablet-holding patented retractable arms are included.
