Embraer’s Twinjet Phenom 300 Series Takes World’s Best-Selling Light Jet Title For Ninth Straight Year

Backed by totals from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), Embraer announced this week that its twinjet Phenom 300 series led all light jets in sales in 2020, making it nine consecutive years now that Embraer has been able to make that claim. Launched in 2005, Phenom 300 series jets now operate in 30 countries with more than 1 million flight hours accrued collectively. Embraer made 50 Phenom 300 deliveries last year, making the aircraft the most-delivered twinjet on the market.

Best In Class

Since the series’ entry into service in 2009, Embraer has delivered 590 Phenom 300 aircraft. Embraer Executive Jets President and CEO Michael Amalfitano says the Phenom 300’s ongoing success speaks to his company’s commitment to delivering business aviation’s ultimate experience. “The Phenom 300E not only boasts advanced capabilities, but also delivers the most sophisticated combination of performance, technology, and ergonomics of any light business jet in the industry,” he says.

The series’ latest variant is the enhanced Phenom 300E, first announced in January 2020 and first delivered in June. Embraer claims the Phenom 300E is the fastest single-pilot jet in production at Mach 0.80, and further that its five-occupant 2,010-nautical-mile (3,723-kilometer) range with National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) reserves gives it the longest range among single-pilot jets. The Phenom 300E also has the largest windows, best pressurization, and best climb performance in its class, Embraer claims. The jet is equipped with dual Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E1 engines and has a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet (13,716 meters).
