Bombardier recently announced that NetJets, operator of the world’s largest private jet fleet, will be the fleet launch customer for its flagship Global 8000 ultra-long-range business jet. NetJets has placed a new, firm $312 million order for four Global 8000 aircraft and has converted previous orders for eight other Bombardier jets to additional Global 8000 orders. These orders and plans to convert in-service Global 7500 aircraft to still more 8000s will eventually give NetJets a fleet of 24 Global 8000 jets. The global NetJets fleet numbers more than 850 aircraft and also includes Bombardier Global 5500 and 6000 long-range jets, Challenger 650 large jets, and Challenger 350 super-midsized jets.

“The new Global 8000 will help us to continue offering our owners, specifically our international travelers, the pinnacle in unforgettably personalized experiences aboard the finest ultra-long-range aircraft available,” says Patrick Gallagher, NetJets president of sales, marketing, and service. “With inventory sold out through 2023 in the U.S., we are continuing to invest in further expansion for prospective owners in North America and across the globe. In fact, by the end of 2023, we are proud to share that our worldwide fleet will be approximately 30% larger than it was in the beginning of 2022.”

    The Speedy Global 8000

Introduced in May, the 19-passenger Global 8000 is set to enter service in 2025. What NetJets and other customers will be receiving is business aviation’s fastest (Mach 0.94) and longest-range (8,000 nautical miles, 14,816 kilometers) aircraft, Bombardier says. The jet also leads the segment with a cabin altitude of 2,900 feet (884 meters) flying at 41,000 ft (12,497 m), and provides short-field performance in all weather conditions. City pair possibilities include Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, and London to Perth.

The Global 8000 also shines where cabin comfort and features are concerned. The cabin is available in a configuration providing four true living spaces, including an available Principal Suite with full-size bed. Bombardier also recently introduced an available Executive cabin configuration that includes individual, 12-ft (3.7-m) Office Suite, Conference Suite, and C-Suite workspaces. A few features worth noting include integrated Pũr Air and advanced HEPA filter technology, a Soleil circadian lighting system, Bombardier’s award-winning Nuage seat with zero-gravity positioning, and its nice Touch CMS (cabin management system) with OLED touch dial.
