Bombardier and other business jet manufacturers attended last week's Catarina Aviation Show at the São Paulo Catarina International Executive Airport in Brazil. The show marked the initial stop of a Bombardier demonstration tour to showcase its bestselling Challenger 3500 and Global 7500 business jets to customers in the Brazilian market.

    Bombardier In Brazil

Michael Anckner, Bombardier’s vice president of worldwide pre-owned, fleet, defense, and Latin America operations, says the Brazilian market is vital to the company’s business jet and defense business segments. He points out that nearly 600 Bombardier aircraft are operating in Latin America.

Customers in the region receive support from Bombardier’s aviation services network, which includes Maga Aviation, a dedicated authorized service facility based at the Catarina Airport. The company provides line maintenance, Bombardier parts, and tooling for Challenger, Global, and Learjet aircraft. (Learjet is a subsidiary of Bombardier Jets.)

    Tremendously Reliable

Bombardier says the dispatch reliability rate for the Global 7500 and Challenger 3500 tops 99.8%. The 19-seat, ultra-long-range Global 7500 has a 7,700-nautical-mile (14,260-kilometer) flight range, which Bombardier says is the longest of any business jet. The jet can complete direct flights from São Paulo to such destinations as Dubai, London, Tel Aviv, New York City, and Geneva.

With its 3,400-nm (6,297-km) maximum flight range, the 10-passenger, super-midsize Challenger 3500 can transport business travelers from São Paulo to San Juan, Puerto Rico; Panama City, Panama; and most European destinations with one stop. Both jets treat passengers to Bombardier’s patented, award-winning Nuage seat featuring zero-gravity positioning.

About The Bombardier Global 7500 & Challenger 3500

Bombardier entered the Global 7500 into service in 2018 and has delivered 170 aircraft in the intervening years. The jet has a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a 51,000-foot (15,545-meter) maximum operating altitude. The plane is billed as the “world’s largest business jet” and offers four true living spaces. It benefits from all-new GE Passport engines and a Smooth Flĕx Wing design that helps reduce fuel burn and emissions.

Introduced in 2021, the Challenger 3500 is an evolution of the Challenger 350. Bombardier says 950 business jets from the Challenger 300 series are in service worldwide. Measuring 6 ft high by 7.2 ft wide by 25.2 ft long (1.8 by 2.2 by 7.7 m), the Challenger 3500’s cabin is the widest in its class, says Bombardier. The plane also has one of the lowest cabin altitudes in its class at 4,850 ft (1,478 m) at 41,000 ft (12,500 m).
