In late August, Gulfstream Aerospace announced it had completed the first customer delivery of its all-new, 19-passenger Gulfstream G800 executive jet, billed as the “world’s longest-range business aircraft.” In addition to its prodigious range and speed, the G800 boasts an award-winning cabin that provides what it says is the industry’s lowest cabin altitude (2,840 feet; 866 meters) when flying at 41,000 ft (12,497 m).

    The Road To Delivery

Gulfstream, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, unveiled the G800 in October 2021. In April, the company received type certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These certifications confirmed that the aircraft’s extended performance surpassed Gulfstream’s initial projections. And then in June, the G800 received the 2025 International Yacht & Aviation Award for Private Jet Design.

    Gulfstream G800 Speed & Range

Two all-new, high-thrust Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, each rated for 18,250 pounds of thrust, significantly contribute to the G800's outstanding range. The jet also utilizes an aerodynamic fuselage and Gulfstream-designed high-speed wings and winglets. Gulfstream says these design advances work together to provide fuel efficiency gains of up to 33% over older Gulfstream business jet models.

The G800’s impressive performance numbers include:

    • A maximum range of 8,200 nautical miles (15,186 kilometers) at Mach 0.85
    • An 8,000-nm (14,816-km) range at Mach 0.87
    • A 7,000-nm (12,964-km) range at Mach 0.90
    • A maximum speed of Mach 0.935

    Cabin Comfort & Configurations

Since its introduction, the G800 has also gained considerable attention for its large, comfortable cabin, which Gulfstream describes as “whisper quiet.” Gulfstream enables ample natural light to flow through the cabin via 16 oval windows that it claims are the industry’s largest. Passengers will also enjoy features such as high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, high-definition LED lighting, and 100% fresh air delivered and purified by a plasma ionization system.

G800 customers can configure the cabin with up to four living areas with sleeping space for up to 10 people or three living areas with a crew compartment and sleeping for up to seven passengers.
