According to the newest Sandhills Global aviation market reports, month-over-month and year-over-year asking values for used jet aircraft dipped lower in August and are trending down. By contrast, asking values for used piston-single and turboprop aircraft increased M/M and YOY and are trending up. The reports cover used jet, piston-single, and turboprop aircraft and used Robinson piston helicopters on Controller.com and other Sandhills platforms.

Inventory levels, meanwhile, showed mixed results across aircraft categories, with inventory continuing to trend downward for jets and turboprops and sideways for piston singles. However, as Controller Manager Terrin Mohl notes, “Inventory levels for jets are showing signs of steadying. Inventory levels in this market have mostly been gradual over the past six months, with both positive and negative changes.”

Sandhills’ aviation products include Controller, Controller EMEA, Executive Controller, Charter Hub, Aviation Trader, Aircraft Cost Calculator, and AircraftEvaluator. AircraftEvaluator is Sandhills’ proprietary asset valuation tool for all types of aircraft, built using the same technology behind Value Insight Portal. Widely used and trusted across equipment, truck, and trailer industries, VIP identifies asset values with unparalleled accuracy.

The key metric in all of Sandhills’ market reports is the Sandhills Equipment Value Index (EVI). Buyers and sellers can use the information in the Sandhills EVI to monitor equipment markets and maximize returns on acquisition, liquidation, and related business decisions. The Sandhills EVI data include equipment available in auction and retail markets, as well as model-year equipment actively in use.
